Be at UVAC by 5:45 for our LAST HOME MEET tonight.
We are hosting Lebanon, Kearsarge, Merrimack, Belmont, Gilford, Laconia, Plymouth, and Winnisquam. (John Stark had a snow day so they cannot come.)
The meet is timed out to end at 9pm, swimming all 10 lanes.
See you there!
Monday - MLK - no practice
Wednesday - regular 6 - 7 am and 6 - 7:30 pm practices (optional)
Friday - regular am practice (optional), pm HOME MEET (not optional)
(There are only two meets left - this week at UVAC and next week at CCBA.)
Due to weather.
PM practice will be canceled IF school is canceled.
Our major fundraiser for the year is TODAY! The Lap-a-Thon is during regular practice hours. We got off to a great start this morning, with the morning crew swimming up to 4500 yards in an hour!
More swimming this evening, 7-8:30pm, followed by ICE CREAM! and a drawing (of lap-a-thon sheets) for prizes. (Don't forget your lap-a-thon sign up sheets for the drawing.)
See you there!
Be on deck in your team suit by 5:30! We will be taking a team picture. There are lots of us, and we won't have much time so please be on time.
We are hosting 7-8 teams this Friday for our second home meet. There will be lots of good competition for great swims!
Happy New Year everyone!
We will resume our regularly scheduled practices on Monday, starting at 6 am.
Our next meet is this coming Friday at UVAC.
The season is off to a great start. We have been building endurance and working on techniques for all the strokes, especially the streamline. I am really pleased with the amount of yardage we have been able to do over Christmas - that will really pay off. Many swimmers have been swimming far more than they ever thought they could.
Snow Day! No practice today.
See you Wednesday.
Several of you have asked if we have practice during break - of course!
Our season straddles two holiday vacations, which makes it a challenge to get in shape and stay in shape. You actually start to lose strength after two days of inactivity! While practices are optional during the break, I have scheduled a few to give you the opportunity to maintain all your hard work so far. If you are going out of town, or are otherwise unable to attend these, please try to get some (strenuous) exercise on your own. We have a meet the first Friday after you get back.
We have our second meet today at UVAC.
We are hosting Lebanon, Kearsarge, Stevens and Plymouth. Warm-up begins promptly at 6pm, and the meet starts at 6:30. The meet is timed to end by 8:45.
Eat before the meet!
Meet results are posted at the Direct Athletics website.
Click on "Results" in the header of this page, and you will get a link for the Women's results and another link for the Men's results. They are usually posted a day or two after the meet.
I will also send an email with the results, including relay splits when possible. The relay splits are not usually on Direct Athletics.
